Yesterday a chap came by to help us maintain the pool at our new house. While he was hauling out the vacuum pole I spotted a green and brown frog on the end of the pole. So I raced inside and grabbed a container to scoop him up for a quick photo session after the tutorial. Sadly domestic stresses saw me completely forget about him until nearly midnight when I suddenly remembered him still in the plastic tub out there. So I quickly set up the light tent and took a series of shots of him before returning him to the garden. This shot was actually taken through the plastic container I put him in, before I put him in the light tent. So this is the Western Green Tree Frog, or Motorbike Frog, named such as they produce a call that sounds like a bike going through the gears. I have yet to hear this sound.

When they do call, you'll understand. A rising note, 'errrrrrrrp'. "Frog looking for a rrrroooooooot!" or a spawn at least. Very nice colour and framing on this shot Doctor.

This is really neat. It looks great how you shot it also, the colors tured out wonderfully.

That's a great shot. I was wondering how you got the camera angle until I read you shot through the container - cool idea as the camera angle makes this shot for me.

Yes - I'm thinking I might try to get hold of some completely clear plastic containers that I can put air holes in and contain my subjects.
