Well, sometimes even the house with the smallest environmental footprint can cause harm. This Red-capped parrot is looking a bit stunned for good reason. He just flew into our kitchen window. He reeled back, and managed to focus on the washing line, alighting on it for a while as he recollected his senses. More than enough time for me to grab the camera and get off a host of shots of him. Poor bugger. :( He flew off ok.

Have the same problem here. My parents like to feed birds, and the often flew into their kitchen window. Hanging things in the window has helped quite a bit. Though the odd bird still is convinced that there isn't a window there. Most of the the time they seem to recover okay, but who knows once they fly off. I can't imagine a window impact is good for a bird in anyway.
