Description

Posted in Categories: Birds -  Wild -

I found this delightful female of the species, as with many of my recent shots, in my new backyard. Perched on a big old jarrah that has avoided dieback remarkably well this far she eyed me with well deserved caution. I dropped the colour from everything except her little tiger stripe tail piece. If she had displayed it you would have seen her bold red tail feathers for which they are named. However it would be rude for a lady to display her tail such, and that is left - appropriately - to the male of the species. This post is a day late because I have been out adventuring with my son for the last day and a half.
