A bit lame - I think I've used that title before. :) Ibis congregate in marshy riverside vegetation on the Swan River in Perth. Pic of the day (or Pic of the every second day, as it has become known), goes to Foto Wolfie. Luis possibly sees the same black-winged stilts in Spain that I see in Australia. It never ceases to amaze me how birds can travel those distances.

I've never seen this species. What beautiful coloring. I love their bills!

In Portugal Gary :) Not Spain. That's the country next to Portugal! :) And i see you continue to put your lens to good use. Another great photo of birds in the wild.

Ah crap - sorry Luis. The by-product of blogging late at night.

I'm such a big fan of these types of shots you do Gary. The birds and their surroundings are perfectly shot. They do have some wild looking bills. I guess the better to scrounge the marsh for insects?

That's about the size of it Kim. They pick down into the vegetation under the water level.
