Far out. I didn't realise there were so many different honeyeater species. 22 pages in my Slater' Field Guide devoted to honeyeaters. I had become quite convinced I just wasn't going to find him in there when I finally happened across him - on the 22nd page. But there we go, that's a brown honeyeater. A male in rut I suspect from his beak colour, prodigious song, and incessant chasing of the others of his ilk. It would also appear this is my 500th photo. I'm glad you were here to witness this exciting moment.

Congratulations on reaching 500! I'm just over half way there with mine... I didn't realise there were so many different honeyeaters - I had a recent encounter with a Blue Faced Honeyeater (as seen here: http://www.hybridvision.net/photolog/index.php?date=2005-11-04)
