Western Australia's fauna emblem, and one of the most fascinating mammals on the planet. Myrmecobius fasciatus is not particularly closely related to any other living species and is therefore worthy of enormous effort to conserve its endangered populations. I photographed this one in the Dryandra Woodland, one of only 2 places it persists in the wild.
