The Peach-faced Lovebird (Agapornis roseicollis) can make a marvelous pet. A hardy bird from arid parts of Africa - they are popular for many of the same reasons Australian desert parrots are popular - they cope with extremely variable husbandry and therefore are a forgiving charge to have in your care. They are also beautiful, tuneful, and develop a trusting relationship with their human keepers in many situations.
