Not dead, just unable to hold its tiny head upright. This Rainbow bee-eater chick has suffered damage to the balance mechanism - giving it a persistent 90 degree head-tilt. Despite there being no visible injuries - this geophile has been ripped from the burrow nest by a cat - so the head-tilt likely secondary to trauma, so hopefully medical management will allow it to recover.
